I need some spare 4runner wheels for snow tires...

Currently my runner is wearing five 30x9.50R15 tires on 15"x7" wheels, including the spare.

I want to assemble a set of snow tires on their own wheels, without breaking the bank.

Importantly, I won't be buying a spare. My spare will be the 30x9.50R15 on the 15" wheel. I live 26 miles from town. So if i get a flat out here, it will be at least 30 miles of driving to get it fixed.

I'm no expert, but that means I gotta stay with a 15" wheel, doesn't it?

I found some Winterforce 235/75-15 with studs for $410 mounted. All I need is wheels.

The junkyard has one set of wheels: alloy from a 94 runner, but he wants $200 for the set.

I've read about the Chevy option. Is it correct that older chevy wheels with the bigger center-bore will fit? What is the cutoff year that you have to buy before, to get the bigger center hole?

Also, if I'm wrong about the wheel diameter thing (to match the spare), somebody set me right. Can I go with 16" wheels? If so, what size tire do i get to stay compatible with my spare?

Where are you at? Those wheels seem to be higher than my local price. Check craigslist.com near your area.
It would be an OK price if they were newer model alloys (2000+)

a 16" wheel would work. You just need to find the same outside diameter tire

EX:
BFG AT tire in 30/9.5 15 is 19.5" in diameter

BFG AT tire in 245/70-16 is 29.5" in diameter

A early Chevy (before about 1990) wheel will bolt on, but the offset is different (the wheels will stick out the sides slightly more than stock). I have white spoke spare wheel (chevy/Toyota aftermarket) that fit my Landcruiser. After I did front disk swap, now the offset is wrong, and it hits the rotors (fit drums OK). If I get a front flat, I have to put the spare on the rear, and move a rear tire to the front.

My spare isn't the same size as my tires (yet) It doesn't HAVE to be, but its better on the running gear (33" tires, 31" spare) More critical if you have a locker.

Where are you located? I didn't see that. Local guy has a set (4)of aluminum 10 hole, similar to the spare on the 96 4 Runner, in a 15". Wants a $100.00. Not sure what shipping would be. He's in WV.

Cool Come get 'em/pay to send them

I have some American racing outlaws that will fit. They are the solid aluminum type with what looks like little rivets around the interior of the rim. Got a killer deal on the '88 4runner and wheels through my buddy...you can have the outlaws for free if you come and get 'em or pay to have them shipped. PM me and I'll give you my number. I'm in Valdosta, GA. 15 minutes from the FL border on I-75.
