boy, judging by that picture, your tailpipe was about an inch from totally doing you in. if what you say is right and you bent a valve causing the exhaust to "suck in", your truck was aout to take an expensive sip of chocolate milk. or can't it do that?

I've had my tail pipe under water many a time, i don't think you can suck water in your exhaust

Well if you can suck a rag in the exhaust you can suck water as well. Right??? As apparently will happen if you have a sticking valve or 2. I'll know more about this tonight.

take a video....seriously. if you get sucked in, and someone sees a video camera laying there, they will be able to see what happened to you and maybe they will post it on YOTATECH.
A learning experience on many levels. No, seriously, try to video it, I never heard of doing that, but then again, I haven't heard alot of things.......................waiting......

Now that would be a site to see now wouldn't it. Might win 10K on funniest home video.
This is the first time I have heard of this. BoostinChick did this a little while ago.
this is what she had posted and what had given me my idea.

Kinda odd to see something like this.

I think you're safe. I don't know how big you are, so maybe wear boots and thread a 2x4 through your belt loops.
In saying "that's cool" I mean a good diagnostic, very un-cool that she's having problems too.
I wonder if her truck was "out drinkin'" too?

that's the one....unless, of course, using a plastic bottle to hold up the plenum is standard practice.

I'm alright, not to worry. Daily duties come first, we share a lot of the responsibilities. I claim the kitchen as my domain (as well as the basement, don't have a garage yet). Had to get dinner going ate, she cleaned up (I like to cook and she cleans well) so it all works out.
Get on with it, I know, I know...
Well fired up the runner and still tapped like, well you know, a lot but it did not suck the rag in like I thought it would. I would gather to say it's an intake sticking not an exhaust.
As for that thread, that will help out. Here is another for good reading. I'll be referrencing them both...

wow...lmao..
that really sucks..i know how ya feel though man..
i did the exact same thin to my '86..luckily mine ran fine..for about 2 or 3 months..then i spun a rod bearing..........so be sure and check your oil for metal shavings...maybe even send it off to one of them places that analyzes it for you...would be worth it to catch a bearing going bad early..

Nothing as of yet...No mon no fun. I'm selling some stuff to pay for the damage I did. I also think I found a donor truck for the 5spd swap and manual hub swap. I think it's an 88 3.0 with a spun bearing, guy said it was knocking real bad the other week.
I'm just going to start with the heads, pull them both get them cleaned up and toss them on and she how she reacts to them. The lil lady has a honey do list that I have to get knocked out first.
