how to manually engage electric fuel pump?
The post title says it all. After siphoning gas over the years out of my 94 runners gas tank for my boat, bike, lawn mower, etc. I decided to tap into my fuel line and install a tee. In theory I can use the vehicles fuel pump to extract gas easily, instead of sucking on a hose and rinsing my mouth out in the process.
So.....when I turn the key my pump is not pumping. When I plug the tee off, the vehicle turns over a few times, then starts. I am assuming the pump doesn't just pump until it reaches pressure. There has to be some kind of relay or sensor somewhere telling the pump not to pump unless the motor is cranking or something. Anyone tell me how to manually engage the fuel pump without messing up my ECU?

you the man. I have already located the Circuit Opening Relay and figured out the EFI relay closes when the key is on. I was going to wire the Opening Relay to the glove box light switch through a second relay, that way all I have to due is turn the key on and open the glove box....
