How to fill transfer case?

1986 4runner 22RE 4 speed auto

I know on the manual trans transfer case you have a basic fill and drain bolt. But on my auto trans transfer case i see the very obvious drain bolt but where do i fill it at?

I think this is it. circled in red. the Toyota part numbers listed are the same fill plug numbers on the mtm transfer. Judging by the picture it should be in approximately the same location as the mtm.

Ok so the pan in your picture is the pan for the transfer case? cause i now see the fill and drain bolt on the back of the transfer case so what is the bolt on the little pan for?

Looking at the FSM, the fill and drain plugs at the back of the transfer case are isolated from the rest of the unit, I think just for the chain. The FSM shows servicing the ATM by draining both pans, the one for the trans and the other for the transfer, then filling via the dipstick tube with Dextron II. 4.8 qts for the transmission/transfer case. I don’t see how much Dextron II for the rear chain case, it says just to fill until fluid comes out the fill hole.
