A mechanical gizmo at one end of the cable would do it. I think they make them for some brands of truck. Or was I dreaming?

We used to use them to correct speedos on the rear wheel drive Chevys. Just a little box that screwed onto the speedo at trans and then cable screwed onto it. You could get them to reduce or increase the speedometer in percentage increments. Like 5% etc. I am sure Someone makes one to fit your needs. I can't help you out with a place to look though.

I just put 31" tires on my 4Runner so I am trying to get that straight with the dealer. They say they have two listings for the setup for that year so if I take mine off it should be the other one.

I always thought you could get a different speedo gear set for the transmission.
When i had my Chevelle i was looking into getting a different speddo gear to correct the MPH.

I would call up a transmission shop to see what they have available

Try looking for speedometer shop in your phone book. If there is one in town, they will have the gear set.
