How do I remove these bolts?

I have 94 Toyota 4x4 that I'm taking out the ignition switch .I came across two weird looking coned shaped bolts.How do I remove these bolts.

You are probably talking about the ign switch security bolts.

The heads on these are broken off after assembly as an anti-theft measure.

When I encounter these, I use a Dremel with a cut-off wheel to grind a screwdriver slot into them, so that they can be removed.

I like to replace them with allen head bolts when things go back together.

Toyota recommends a screw-extractor. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../6tiltstee.pdf

If you have ever used a screw-extractor, you'll realize that millball has a better way to do it.

I use a small hammer and chisel to back them out enough to loosen, then finger them out.
