HOW BIG of tires on stock suspension.w/o rubbing?
Ok currently i got 33x12.5's on my stock '90 4Runner. and they rub horribly so i need to go down to 31''s right? but i want some wide ones, that way it'll still have a good lookin stance. but how wide do they come and how wide can i go w/o them rubbing?
i know tire size is widely discussed topic.but i want some fresh opinions.plus i dont know much about tires.

33x10.50 will fit and maintain your ground clearance with the aerodynamics and rolling resistance closer to your stock tires.
Width is a MUCH bigger factor for rubbing than height. I would think the widest 31 you could fit without rubbing would be a 12.50.

i dont know what youre doing wrong, i have 33x1250s nearly stock without rub...
what offset wheels do you have???
try a small tbar crank and coil spacers, then add bump stop spacers if all else fails

Go with a 31x11.50" or something. That way you can still have the "wheel sticking out look" but without any needed lift to avoid rubbing. Your fuel mileage shouldnt go down to much either.

Go for either 31x10.5 or 33x10.5 I wouldnt bother going wide if I were you, some people like the look but it does very little for you traction wise. Narrower tires are pretty much better for most applications. Wider tires do give you more stability around corners though. I personally think narrower tires look better than fat tires on yotas anyway being as they are narrow vehicles.

Have you guys had any luck getting the BFG 33X10.5's lately? I could get them so I ended up with 33X12.5's.
I have 33X12.5's with very minor trimming and pounding. I mean it took all of 45 minutes to clear the tires and cost nothing. You can fit that size if you like. The body lift has other advantages though so I'd consider it.
