It's a 94 Toyota 4x4, 250k miles, extended cab, blue, no lift or what so ever...just stock...except for the tires of course. Here's a pic of his and mine (notice mine is the only 2wd...lol)

BTW - I have wildcat AT's...my friend does, and all of the vehicles at my work do too. Which is about 7 and one is a dually. So they are not bad tires at all. They cost more than super swampers (of my size anyway)

Notice the tire chain on the far right of the picture below my bumper...that is why I got stuck trying to turn around.

Are you sure getting stuck didn't have anything to do with having 2WD in the snow???

Nah...You'll break much more wheeling your 2WD.....

With 4x4, you get worse MPG, but you feel more powerful, knowing that you can go where not as many others have gone before, AKA off road...

Cool truck, though.

Thanks...it's not bad. It starts faster than my brothers...and is faster...lol

I have never had this much fun with a truck. My last truck was more powerful but this 4 banger is awesome. I did a brake stand (pop the clutch...give it gas, and hold the brake) today...lol

I like it a lot since it has NO options...I know kind of weird for someone to say that. I look at it this way...less options = less breakage!

I agree, less things that can go wrong. But I do like my gadgets...even though early 90's options are somewhat simple, and primative, compared to some of the stuff these days.

I did a brake stand in my 4Runner once, but that started in some loose sand in a parking lot, then moved away, so I could cook the tires a little more. And I have the V6.....

lol. Yeah the options are pretty simple and limited.

Brake stands can be pretty fun. The only thing is is that I couldn't keep it from moving forward. I didn't want to do it 10 times til I get it right. The first time I ever tried one I accidentally killed it. This truck seemed way easier though.

Well, a couple days ago we found out that the front left (drivers side) wheel bearing is completely shot...apparently the play in the front wheel (when it's off the ground) is a lot...like it moves a 1/2" to 1"...so that is going to get replaced. Can that cause the cupped tires?

I've had the same thing eat a brand new tire on bent wheel. The wheel was also pretty much brand new (cheaper steel wheel though) and was just barely bent, not even noticeable to the eye but when I got a second set of tires mounted to them they had a real hard time balancing the one. Worth a check, if you get them rebalanced and one wheel comes back with a massive amount of weights you know whats up, they will usually tell you they think one is bent as well. Sorry to hear, those aren't cheap (maybe cheap but not inexpensive ) tires.

re : cupped tyres

i have the same problem. went to get a wheel balance and alignment and was told not to bother until i replaced the upper and lower ball joints. their exact words were that a lot of places would not have even noticed the minimal movement in the ball joints but that that was has caused the irregular rear on the tyres.

and today i found in the service manuals troubleshooting section that cupped tyres is indeed caused by ball joint movement. im sure that wheel bearing movement would have the effects

No options is awesome for a maintenance free truck. Also I can almost fit my whole body next to the engine under the hood when closed.
