okay, so i've always liked the look of aux. lights mounted on the
windshield pillar (dad had it on the cj growing up) and i've decided
I'm moving my lights and im looking for pic's of others who have done
this. I've seen two rigs on here before, one was a white Tacoma and
the other was a green 2nd gen 4Runner. Anyone with Pic's should post
them up.

I've already started on mine. The goal is to come up with a bracket that
doesn't shake but i dont have to cut up the hood cowl. I've come up with
the bracket, it shakes a little at 65 miles per hour, but i won't be going that fast
when i actually use them (most of the time anyways) I've yet to wire the
lights up and see how well they work at night when driving (test shake)
and any experience with this would be apprectiated.

looks like a really good idea that'll come out well!

only problem I see is that's there's no horizontal adjustment, unless you just bend the bracket

There done! theyve been done for a bit. really just haven't taken pix.
my ac switch didnt work so i ran the hellas to the relay and us the ac switch so it looks factory, but the lights come on with the ac switch! haha.
they shake a little not much tho. i bolted them to the body below the cowl, and then the bracket is riveted to the fender to help reduce shake (made a huge difference) the goal was to make them so i didnt have to drill holes into the visible body panels.

Damn that looks nice. Was just thinking bout doing that myself. My KC's on the roll bar are the only thing keeping me from being able to park the yota in the garage...

So, how do ya handle your horizontal adjustments?

They look great. I might just have to do that on mine. I currently have a pair of hella 500s mounted on my roofrack since I can't find a place to put it on my front marlin cralwer bumper without blocking my headlights.

Vertical positioning, no problem
horizontal, uh. well i just turn the brackets a little to the sides since there bolted down and bent the bracket a little bit. i like them straight on and thats how they pretty much are.

eventually i wanna set them up so i can turn on just the left or right one
when i want, or both at the same time.

thx for the comments, my photobucket shows how they're mounted, maybe you could come up with a way to adjust them horizontally?

looks like a lot of light gets thrown on the hood and time to upgrade your headlights

I know its a old thread but wanted to see if anyone else has done this? I have some blitz 240s coming tomorrow and was think of mounting there. I know they are huge but i have no problem cutting the cowl or welding something up. Biggest issue is going to be visiblitly since they are so huge. I normally look out the door while wheeling anyways, and making sure the hood does not interfere.

maybe something like this if i cant make it work on the cowl. I just have no room up front but got a really good deal on these so had to pick them up.

Never liked that look on anything other than a Wrangler....but not as high up as this one ^
