honeing a motor

im going to hone the cylinders on my 22rtec is there anything i should do special before i do it. I am using a brush type hone,and some wd-40 any tips or advise from you guys would be great.

keep it moving ..... pull it right out before stopping to give the perfect cross hatch .

Also don't get over zelous. Stop, wipe down and check often and stop when you get a nice cross hatch pattern. If you're hone has been used before, make sure it has good stones on it. There wouldn't be much worse than have one of the stones break while your using it.
