High Idol

Yeah i went 4x4ing on the weekend and after engaging the 4wheel drive and splashing around in a river and ripping in some mud holes my truck began to idol extremely high. Any ideas on this would be great because now i have it back at home and it wont go back to a normal idol. i dont even like turning it on cuz it shoots right up to like 2500. How can i set it to idol lower so i can try to diagnoss the problem while its running?and what could cause this?

Mud clogging your throttle body, perhaps causing it to stick open? Dirty air flow meter? Check any areas mud could have gotten, clean it out, seafoam it, and try again.

sounds electrical, so check all your connections and plugs as well.
