Brakes are next they vibrate bad... I know how to do car brakes but never done em on my toyota
Brakes are a breeze. If they are vibrating when you step on the pedal then the front rotors are probable a little warped. You'll need to pull them and get them turned or, if they are already too thin, replace them.

Don't even get me started on the back brakes. I'd almost rather do a rear ddisk conversion then fight with all those springs again.

Yeah my boyfriend told me they were easy to do too So im gunna do them and I plan on replacing the rotors just beacuse I know they will need it and why not do it all if im gunna already be working on it.... I am thinkin about doing SAS on it but im not sure beause i use it as my daily driver and weekend light play rig I do some trails but nothing too serious cause its not caged or anything. In time I wanna get a 84 or 85 and build it for a trail rig

oil for the most part will always drip downwards.. so trace the wet spot upwards to find the source..

I'd start a new thread. Hijacking is for terrorists.

You'll get better and more concentrated answers that way.

I noticed someone planning to the simple task of changing their thermo this weekend. I did that a couple of years ago, a simple job right. With a 1/4 ratch I was tightning the bolts back up and snap, broke it off with very little torque. That turned into a major problem. My advice, a little light oil. Maybe even replace the bolts. I suspect that over time they become brittle with all the swings in temp.

Found this thread trying to educate myself on this issue no one can fix. i'm stumped on this idle weirdness myself.

first it was high idle, sticking until i blipped the gas and it would come down. So i had the TPS replaced and the TB cleaned. They said it tested bad and they said they used a meter to set the new one.

For the first few hours it ran fine. Idled at 850. I thought it was fixed! Nope...

Because then the surging started, when braking only after it warmed up, and idle rose over 1100. Didn't have surging before. So i turned idle down by turning the big screw clockwise. I brought the idle back down to 850 and the surging was gone. So i drove it up the block and back to check if i fixed it. Nope. The idle rose back up to 1050 or so. Not surging but sticking higher than i set it. so I turned it back down to 850 again. And drove it the same. And it rose back up to 1050 again. I turned it down to 850 a third time and drove it, and it rose up again, but at least without surging still. I gave up at this point

What is controlling the idle to run correct when cold? Will it now be too low when cold because i turned it in like 5 turns while warm? GUESS ill find out tomorrow am!

What is making it continue to boost itself back over 1000?

Should i have this IACV and/or AAV pulled and cleaned? Or replace these temp sensors i read about? Is the only solution to replace every part because no one can diagnose it?

this is possibly the 7th shop I've taken this problem to. I don't think anyone in GA is competent enough to fix this truck anymore.
