Hi Lift Mounting
#21
75 for the sonoran 3rd gen seems steep. I have a 1st gen roll bar in my 3rd gen and for almost 2yrs I've had it attached to that, at an angle, on the side. about a week ago i finally took it out b/c it was driving me absolutelly nuts, the rattling, bouncing and shaking was terrible. I wonder if the sonoran mount makes it quieter? I think it was just the jack not the way i had it mounted... i used rubber gromets and foam to keep things under control and it still didn't work. was gonna put it outside but now i'm not so sure...just can't win.

I just bought a Hi-Lift on craigslist for $40 so now I am looking for somewhere to mount it on my 02 4runner. Keep the ideas coming!
By the way the Hi-Lift I bought has seen better days, has anyone on here repainted their Hi-Lift? Would new paint damage it or cause it to not work properly?

Keep min on the floor in the back of my runner. Nice and dry.
In my TR I have mounts welded to the fender in the bed. And when its out side, I have an old tent bag that gets wrapped around the working part, as well as a coating of WD40 after every use. Having a working hi lift is so nice after you used one that doesn't like to work
