Hi-Lift Jack doo hickey

i couldnt figure out how to mount my hi lift in my bed and didnt wanna pay 300 bucks for a piece of steel to mount it on so me and my buddy made this son of a gun in shop class. at first we measured wrong somehow by about 4inches to short. how we did this i have no idea. so we just decided to sleeve it in the middle. teh sleeve is off center by a bout 3inches or so but it doesnt bother me cuz i was going fro function. we weldded my 4XRAC mounting bracket on it and called it doen i just pu tone coat of primer on it a few minutes ago and i should have installed in a day or two when i find time. its gonna go across the front of my bed. its made from some sracp metal from an old batting cage but hey... it works!

its not the perdiest thing but i dont care. tell me what you think good and bad and give me some pointers if i did somethin wrong

Hard to see some of it against the garbage bag drop cloth but the welds look clean.
You may have "lost" those 4 inches in the offset for that bolt mount. It happens all the time lol...

But using torches/plasma cutters and welders is so much more fun then a dumb measuring tape!

i was a little 'iffy' before i scrolled down. but it looks great with the jack on there..

there is something about the designing and fabrication of truly custom 'doo hickys'
that makes you warm and tingly inside ..
