i rechecked all my grounds, i thought i didnt have fuel so i installed a toggel switch for the fuel pump then took it out cuz it did work afterall lol i check for spark at the coil i got spark, i check for fuel at the cold start injector and i got fuel, i took off the top timing cover just to make sure i was still good....... im still on timing i got about 155 to 160 compressin,
i dont have the senors on the back of the intake hooked up cus i wanna go with mechanical gauges but so i still have to have them conected?

at frist it would shoot out code 13 then code 24 and so i swaped out the coil and reset the CEL by pulling out the efi fuse and still get the code

before it was running good untill i wantd to time the 4runner on first start up after the build now it just wont start it just turns and turn
and for some reson ive notice that the alt gets warm is that ok?

all the help i can get will be apreciated im so close but i dont want to take my runner into shop so everybody please help me thanks in advance

if you have a crank positioning sensor, replace that. I had the same problem with my Jeep and I replaced it and it runs great. But I dont know if you'll have on your truck. I dont have one on my 86 pickup.

^ No crank sensor on 3VZ-E. Pick-up Coil in the Distributor.

For TDC#1 Cylinder the distributor pointing at #1 spark plug wire on the ditributor cap.

the crank sensors were a very common problem on jeeps. Is your afm hooked up? the intake in place? you need fuel compression and spark to run. you have verified the compression with numbers. you said you're getting spark to the distributer from the coil... But i dont feel confident with you rulling out fuel. Pull a couple plugs and take a look at them. wet?

make sure you dont have any intake leaks, they are sneaky little buggers.

Sure you checked all grounds? To the body? To the block? Intake hose leaking? Does it start kind of rough? ^What he said are the plugs wet? Sounds like the Ignitor/coil assembly. Try tapping on the Ignitor and see if it starts. Another check you can do for fuel issue..... Take the Airflow meter off the Air box leaving it attached to the intake hose, have someone turn the truck over while you hold open the "flapper" door. See if it starts.

as for grounds: from battery to chassis and also form battery to block and head then from the back of the intake to the firewall then from the coil pack base to the driver head

ive tried looking at the plugs they did look a little wet but i dont have a fuel pressure checker but when i pull the cold start line it comes squriting out

and ive got no codes onthe MIL, ive already swapedout the coilpack

I have the same problem and just checked my VAF. I had a broken solder joint on the connector. I dropped the intake. I am going to solder and retest.

nope it was sitting at my buddys shop since 6/15/10 and i just got it back on 8/15/10 and within that time i was retimed, i was only a tooth off and they tryed to fix it but they gave up
so i got it back, checked the codes, only code was code 52, knock sensor, replaced the knock sensor and pigtail, put it all together went to fire over the engine and it would just crank and crank then it started

ran good then died......tryed to turn it on again nothing
