Hey, lucas guys.

The oil change before the one i just did, i used mobil 1 10-40 and 1 quart of lucas.

the lucas definitely smoothed it out some.

This last time, i used mobil 1 15-50 extended performance because we had some laying around the shop....

I have the same oil pressure as i did with the lucas, and it feels as smooth as it did.

Its not a great discovery or anything, but it did save me $10.

Not exactly scientific but interesting nonetheless.

well, here is the thing.

lucas is very very heavy, obviously.

so it keeps a nice layer of film throughout the motor because it takes a very long time for it to drain back into the pan when you shut it off. and all of it probably never makes it all the way down, leaving a protective coat for the next time your start it up.

Besides, all oil traps air.

When we get out deliveries to fill our bulk tanks, the oil looks disgusting at first. it takes a day or two for all the air to work its way out.

Yeah... I'll pass on the oil foam lubrication system. I do like my soap to foam up though.

I used Lucas twice...

I also had to have my engine rebuilt both times right after I used it. Call me slow, but I did finally learn a lesson.
