If you don't know the age of the oxygen sensor, it may not be a bad idea to replace it (pull it out and take a look).


I did mine after getting my runner, and it led to a smoother idle.
Fixed, thanks everyone for all your help. After i replaced the plug wires problem was still there but i found that the middle plug on the passenger side wasnt firing like the rest when i removed it, it had a yellow ring around the boot like rust color but not rust not cleanable, after checking around some more specifically on that cylinder i found that the clip holding the wire that mounts to the block was loose and dangling and it had already almost melted my new plug wire, not melted but you could see a dark area on the wire where it was arcing. I put the clup back that holds the wire and took the truck out for a spin, problem solved. Still puzzled that the new wire would arc, but anyway not gonna worry bout it, fixed for now.
