hey guys, i need a hand identifying a couple connectors on the engine harness. i cannot find what they connect to. engine is currently on a stand, so if they connect to something in the engine bay (looked there too) it would be awesome if someone could include pictures.
these are the only two i cant find a place for.
they could be routed to the wrong spot, they may go under the intake manifold. i just dont know. the sooner the better, would love to hear her run again soon! Thanks!
So the get connects to a wire that is supposed to come out of the tube on the back of the intake manifold? And the other one goes to a third valve on the valve cover that I don't have. Sweet. Now I gotta find one.
As far as the connector to that tube on the back, I'll take a pic when I get home on lunch, I don't believe I have that either.
That connector on the EGR is on California model trucks. It may be standard on the newer trucks. I had an 89 California truck with the sensor on the EGR. Never had a newer truck then a 92 so it may have been standard by 93 or up so I am not sure. Yours could possibly not have the connector for the sensor. Anoter way of knowing if it is a California truck is ti will say Cali on the hood sticker. A third way I have seen on early 89-95 trucks is a down stream O2 sensor behind the catalytic converter. Non California trucks will not have the sensor in the EGR or down stream O2 sensor.
When I first seen your thread, I could tell it was 89 or newer by the connectors. They changed several of them from the previous generation. If it was the old style I would know. Post your year and maybe some one with the same year could help as well. The newer each year the trucks got the more changes Toyota added.
As far as I know everything is the same year as the truck. 1993. I go on lunch in 45 minutes so I'll take some pictures as soon as I get home. Anyone have a spare a/c idle up valve laying around?
Well got those pics. I don't think I have either of those things. Would the connector be on the harness if they didn't have the temp probe? Like one harness many trucks kinda thing? Or should I be buying that junk?
I'm sorry to be a pain In the ass here, but where do you see the port for the temp sensor? Could you circle it in my picture because I'm blind and stupid on this one.
As far as the ac, the truck has ac. Its just never worked. The tensioner for the ac belt is also missing, but I'm trying to make it work again.
This red circled area there is a rusty metal bracket. That is where the EGR temp sensor goes. Is there a hole on the top of yours or is it a solid metal plate?
Also, is this the same engine that came out of the truck or a different one?
