Help with O2 sensors

My son has a 93 4wheel drive pick up, with the 22RE 5 speed, that he ran in the water and we had to rebuild it. We have it all put back together but it still will not run right. When he blew the motor he still drove it the rest of the day and it was pushing oil out the exhaust system. My question is could the O2 sensors be bad now that they have oil all over them. We have changed the MAFS, some of the injectors, the throttle positioning sensor, and the water temp sensor.

The sensor is relatively tolerant of oil, but you don't need to guess. The test procedure can be found here: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...42oxygense.pdf This procedure calls for a meter with a needle -- you'll have a tough time finding one anymore, particularly one with that sensitive a scale. But your $8 digital meter will probably be fast enough to tell.

usually using even a cheap multimeter should be good enough to tell if its working correctly. Perhaps you could be more specific about how its not running right?
