HELP!!! not getting fuel.....

my 87 4runner isnt getting fuel. i just bought it and the guy i bought it from thought it was the fuel pump so he replaced it. he also wired a seperate relay to the fuel pump cause he said it was only getting about 4 volts through the factory plug. i disconnected the return line when the pump was running and
it was getting fuel so i know its going to the rail. but when i tested for power at the injectors i found power on both sides of the plug.
any suggestions???????

also all the fuses are good. replaced all the relays. could it be the solenoid resistor on the passenger side of the engine compartment? how do i test that? where would i get one if it is bad?

you should have power on both sides of the injector plugs.
the ECU switches one side of the injector plug from 12v to ground in order to fire the injector

Distributor pickup? It is what pulses the injectors (indirectly).

ill check it out.. also i found some corrosion where the wiring harness from the afm goes next to the battery box. some battery acid probably got in there at one point and corroded some wires. none of them were bare and touching but i figured i would get rid of
the corrosion just in case.

Did you check the fuel pressure? On most fuel prssure gauges have a hose that comes off the side of the gauge for checking the flow rate. Dose it run now? What are the problems you are having (stalling, hard start, ect...)?

I have found more NEW pumps to be bad out of the box than I care to rember. The best way is to check everything from the begining as if there are no new parts on it. Flow dose not always mean pressure..

could it be the fuel pressure regulator??? cause when i was getting flow from it it had no vacuum going to it. shouldnt it be higher pressure in the rail when theres no vacuum and lower pressure when there is? how do i hook up a fuel pressure guage to this rail theres no port on the rail?

Update!!!

Found the problem. after taking out the main engine wiring harness and completely going through it finding nothing. i was looking at the harness going from the air flow meter around the front of the radiator "next to the battery" and to the solenoid resistor. i found that it was rubbing against the battery and some battery acid must have gotten into the harness. found alot of corrosion on a few wires. replaced/repaired the wires and now it fires right up.

now i found out that the alternator is not charging.
