help is needed!

So I just did a full tune up on my 1987 4runner dlx. I replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor cap w/ rotor, I even got another set of injectors, I even tried another ECU, new spark plugs wires, but when I start up my truck it still runs weak. I put it in 1St gear and I try giving it gas I feel it very weak so eventually my truck dies. I'm at the point I really don't know what to do to it now. Could it be possibly the timing is off or needs new pistons rings due to low compression?

Yes, whatever a "full tuneup" includes, it certainly includes setting the timing (with a timing light). And probably checking the compression. So before you start thinking about rings, check the timing, and then check the compression (if compression is low, a squirt of oil in the cylinder might raise it. If it does it might be rings, if not it might be valves.)

Thanks man will definitely look into that. Now I was doing some extra research and I was reading that you can actually read codes on your truck to see what exactly is not working properly. Do you have any clue on how to do that? Or how I can get to view all the codes? I used to own a Honda I would read codes off of the ECU by a blinking light on the top. Do toyotas work the same?

My, sr5joser. You need to look around this site a little more first. Your question gets answered about 4 times a day around here.

(the special service tool is a paperclip).
