HELP! Engine only idles after being waterloged

(What I did)
So I was doing a little puddle stomping when I came to a dead stop in a big puddle. I tried to start it again, (note: the water was only about 2ft deep where I stopped) and it would not turn over at all. So I checked my oil and there was water in it, I check the air filter box and it was completely full of water. So I towed it home pulled spark plugs water came out I pulled the pan, the upper intake plenum, the valve covers, and the cap which I found also had water in it. I then flushed out the the rest of the motor and cleaned all parts I removed and reinstalled having meticulously labeled all vaccum lines and tubes. I put all new fluids in it and started it up.
(What it does)
It idles but when you press on the gas it wont rise out of the 2000 range. The rpms just bounce up then back to idle. I decided I should check for vaccum leaks and I went around with a tube to my ear but couldn't hear any. So I have completely change my oil and filter again after running some fast motor flush chemical through it and it still does it. I also found that when pressing down on the brake it will kill the motor. Please Please help what is wrong? What else goes bad when you water log your motor?
Oh ya its a 1988 xcab 3vze motor.

I'm not familiar with the FI on the 6cyl, but you might want to make sure the AFM vane is moving freely. It sounds like it may be stuck from corrosion or a chunk of debris.

Roadkill may be onto something. If the AFM got wet, it's probably toast. The AFM is the electronic sensor located in the top of the air cleaner box.

The vane does move but I am almost positive it probably got wet. I'll have to see if I can find a used one I'm sure the stealership is expensive. Is there a way to test the afm?

I had to rebuild the AFM on mine because the bearings on the vane had rust on them so it was sticking. I took it apart, put new bearings in it, and cleaned it inside and out. Worked perfectly after that.

Awesome thanks for the help, I found it actually to be the tps sensor by unplugging it.
