Alright its startin to get a little chilly here and houston and my heater dont work? But the ac does so thats good but I have checked the heater vavle on the firewall, sprayed water through the valve into the core and back out with a nice steady flow, checked the fuse above the ecu and have changed the t-stat and it still dont work does anybody have any ideas or is there something I am for getting to check??

are you showing temp on your cluster? warm that sucker up and feel the hoses with your hands. if all is hot your problem is probly linkage in your dash.. is the warm to cold lever moving the valve for the heater core.. did you flush it in both directions?

Yea its warm I just drove to walmart and back and all the hoses are hot but no heat? I flushed it just the direction the arrow points on the valve. The the valve opens and closes I watched it is there one on the heater core.

id try back flushing it.. if theres a clog i doubt you can force it through.. also double check the return line from the heater core.. if its not the same temp as the line goign in theres a problem.. this is a trickey one.. there isnt much else that can go wrong to make it not work.. lol.. im going to ask anyways.. is your blower working?

If you are hot on both sides of the heater core then like above it is more than likely your linkage in your dash.

When you move from hot to cold can you hear the vent clam open and closed?

Look under your dash on the pass side. you can see the white leaver on the side of the heater core that opens the vent to allow the air flow to flow through the heat exchanger.
This happened on my truck, the linkage was bent on the dash switch and was moving just not allowing the door vent to open.

Good luck

Did you recently drain the coolant? If so, you could have an air pocket in the inlet hose. My 85 had very little heat after the engine rebuild, and it took a bit before the heat was working again. I heard a lot of gurgling from the heater core before it worked. Since changing the intake manifold (thus draining the coolant), I am without heat again. So I'm going to cut in a Prestone flush kit on the heater core inlet hose just before it hits the valve at the firewall. This is the highest point in the system. I'll open the cap and add fluid there. Hope it will get the remaining air out. You might try the same.
