looking to convert my headlight to the h4 HID bulb and was wondering whats the best ebay or other product kit
to do this

I just bought the standard h4 housings off ebay, I did buy the 85/100 watt bulbs. I live in a rural area, lots of deer and cattle and sometimes right in the middle of the road. If you go the bigger bulbs, you will have to take extra time to adjust them properly. I adjusted mine until people quit flipping the lights at me and on bright I can still see a long ways even on dark nights. I didnt buy from that seller, but I would guess all the ebay h4 housings are about the same. Mine are not d.o.t. approved and I doubt those are either. I understand from what Ive read that these dont light up over head signs well as on interstates. Mine seems to, but maybe not to d.o.t. standards. Some reccomend up gradeing the headlight wiring harness, I didnt do that, but I am satisfied with the lights the way they are..

Yup, the price if anything tells you DO NOT DO IT!!! search the boards lots of threads on good conversions. Spend the extra loot you will be glad you did

do a proper retrofit (that includes PROJECTORS) or do a headlight harness upgrade. Please don't put 'HID's into anything other than HID projectors.

TheRetrofitSolution (TRS) is awesome, DDM tuning, etc... $300 will give you amazing results...

so will a headlight upgrade harness from 4crawler or build your own for <$50.

Upgrade your harness is my recommendation if you're on a budget

why u say not to run hids without the right housings
i run hids in my stock durango housings with no problem
im looking for CHEAP housing like the ebay ones so i can run hids thats all i wann do

Then buy a brand name set of high wattage H4s. I am currently running Hella 100/80w bulbs and love them. You can see everything so clear and when I turn on the high beams the entire road lights up.

You can get this whole setup for about $100 depending on how much you want to spend on the harness

e-codes with HID's actually look decent.. And this is coming from someone who is a retrofitsource.com wholesaler.. Not exactly pushing sales for projectors haha..

That being said, I understand the budget thing.. If you go with DDM (garbage) and call TRS and ask for their garage sale Mini H1 projectors, you can have a $100 dollar bixenon 35w hid setup that doesn't blind people..Then down the road, get Morimoto ballasts and Philips bulbs when you have the funds..

Look into Autopal ecode conversion lights, compared to the Hella's.. And higher watt bulbs and a better harness - easily under $100 bucks.

i dont get why i have to do a wiring harness and ddm is not garbage had the raptor ballast for 2 years and had no problems with ddm
if i get the euro housings and get a hid kit will i be good im loking for the EASIEST way to get HIDS

The stock wiring isnt made for high wattage bulbs. That much current on the skimpy factory wiring creates heat and could melt the wiring. Also you probably wont be getting your full voltage on 17 year old wiring and corroded connectors

Please don't buy a set of cheap HID's.
You'll burn every driver's retina's out due to terrible pattern and cut off.
It's really a waste of money.
If you want to go the HID route, please do it properly, for our sake.
If you want half decent lights right now, go out and buy some sylvania's or whatever the top end bulbs are now.
If you have your heart set on an H4 conversion, make due with the provided bulbs or step it up to some high-end bulbs you can buy locally.

In any case, upgrading your wiring harness will greatly improve your light output, as said above, your 17-23 year old wiring harness probably won't cut the mustard. It will cut down on your light output and can potentially be dangerous if you ignore us all and do the HID conversion anyway.

Above all else, a properly aimed headlight is better than any improperly aimed conversion or bulb. Spend the time and aim you headlights. You may not need to upgrade your headlights at all....

I am sorry, don't mean to make it seem like I am poking fun at you or anything but I think what we are all getting from this thread is-

"I want HID's because they look cool and all the cool kids are doing it, I don't want to do it right or spend any money, I just want it to look like I did."

Kinda reminds me of a guy that came into my work, he wanted HID's installed on his car with oil leaking everywhere, the clutch was slipping and the radiator was leaking "don't worry about all that, just do the HID's" is what he said.
