Hey guys I was curious as to if you must have a lift on your 3.0 4runner (2nd gen) to have headers installed? Now I've heard thats pretty much a definate with downey, but what about thorley and LCE or anyone else? idk, but i am curious as to if there is anything out there that does not require a body lift and how much it might cost? Thanks!!

 

There is no lift needed to run headers on the 3.0.

I think its the crossover that goes under the tranny/t-case that is usually the most problem, and a lift is probibly recomended since it hangs down so far.

 

No lift needed.The headers are about $350 give or take,but I installed them myself.I would charge about $200-$300 to install on a non-lifted 3.0 Toyota!

The base model downeys used to be around that price.

 

If you can get them for $350 then I got hosed. Just bought LCE's street header kit and it was $649. They have since raised the price to $800 but it includes everything and it is ceramic coated. I was able to drop the engine in with the headers installed but it was tight. I am going to have to tie a few things back and maybe make a couple heat shields. Otherwise they fit fine.
