Hard to Shift

I just bought a 90 P/U and am having a really hard time getting it to go into gear. Sometimes it is really easy and others it is almost impossable. Is this a clutch problem or is there any kind of adjustment that can be made. Thank you in advance for any help.

have you done a search on this issue? with a truck that old, it could very well be the "shifter seat bushing". original toyota ones tend to crumble over time.

I had a similar problem like this with an Integra, ended up being the pressure plate.

Did you check the clutch fluid?

could be a clutch fluid/air in the line problem, shifter seat bushing, or if its cold, and has been sitting the trans fluid tends to get gelly, and takes a little while to warm up, and thin out, and can make it hard to get it into gears until its warmed up.

where is the clutch fluid reservoir? do you need special clutch fluid...or will regular brake hydraulic fluid work?

dot 3/4 is whats needed.

the clutch reservoir is right infront of the drivers seat. it is all the way against the right inner fender as you are looking from infront of the truck.
