Grill and headlights on my 94

I didn't see this anywhere so here is my question. I cannot get the Grill off of my 1994 pickup. I need to replace the headlights but can't get the lower clips to clear the bumper! Has anyone made it past this? I have even completely removed the metal clips from the slots in some locations. All of the "T" clips are loose as well as the corner lights. The driver side bottom peg will not move. Looks to me like I have to remove the bumper from the truck.....for headlights

You want to change the headlights? No way you have to remove the front bumper unless something is aftermarket or jacked up from a wreck.

Well, I went back out and looked at it. The bottom of the grill actually wraps around the top of the bumper! I had my brother double check me. It almost looks like a "lip"at the bottom and both bottom mounts are below the plane of the bumper. I am gonna run back out and try to get a picture if i have enough light.

Here is one image, you can see how it extends below the bumper. Also, I am pulling up on the grill with my left hand.

just to replace the headlights? you dont need to get the grill off.
just remove the top 2 screws off the metal bracket that hold the headlight in place, it's a thight fit but it will come off once that thing is loose.

You can remove the headlights without removing the grill. Just remove the corner lights and undo the 2 screws and the spring on the outerside.

If you are going to replace the bulbs I recommend upgrading to H4s if possible. They are alot brighter and the housings with bulbs was only $40. I upgraded to H4's, built a new headlight harness with thicker gauge wire and am running Hella 100/80w bulbs and cant be happier.

How did you upgrade to H4's, was this in a 1994? My truck uses sealed beam (glass and all one unit).
I found out why i am having sooooo much trouble. My father in law (who gave me the truck FREE 5yrs ago) told me it was in a head on with a deer. He had to get it straightened out and aligned when he bought it. The bumper is probably way too close due to that. I have the top two screws out and will play with it a little before I remove the bumper. Going to garage now.

Mine is a 93 which had sealed beams but you buy the housing then after that you just buy H4 bulbs.

These are the ones you want

Thanks alot. I got my sealed beams in for now because the others were in two parts and vehicle was un-drivable. I DID have to loosen the bumper on the driver side to have enough space. I will add the H4's to my parts list in my build up.
