I cut a big circle in the front of my 'box--and it sounds like a Jake Brake on deceleration (almost). I figure it was the easiest way to open it up and get more cold air in the box. Might not be the best choice for you four wheeling types who think you are driving a submarine.

i understand your not arguing, because you are asking a question. if anyone can learn somthing from my posts, then im glad. im not gonna say incoorect things here, because in my line of work, incorrect diagnostics can cost me big amounts of money.

...because it cant be reburned. it will absorb heat, (to put it simply)

since the stoichiometric ratio has been achieved, the air fuel mix will still ignite, but burn at a lower temperature. the spent fuel increases the heat capacity of the mix which lowers the overall combustion temperature. now do you understand?

Well, you know how it is, chief. Sometimes questions are loaded and wanted you to know mine wasn't.....

I've heard/read something to that effect before, but I still don't quite understand. That's okay, though. I'll just do some reading on it.

Thanks.

hmm you should already be getting it... you kinda get it just from a k&n filter intake kit, its all the junk BEFORE the airbox that eliminates the sound. i love my sound its like my truck growls when i coast into the drivethru.if you rev it should make it after you let off the gas entirely just before it gets back to idle.... id say the last 500 rpm before idle.

hey justa22re try turning down the stereo.... maybe you dont even know you should be wearing a trucker hat , and riding with with stalk of straw stickin out your mouth.
