Good cams?

Hi i have a 87 with the 22RE i was just wondering what a good cam would be im planning on rebuilding the motor because i have a slight rod knock when its cold. but i do not want to put a bunch of money into changing the lifters or anything. so therefore i just wanted to know what choices of cams i had? and what the best brands were for the money? thanks.

The TRD cams are just rebranded Crane Cams. EB makes a good cam but be sure it's correct for your application; people who "over-cam" their daily drivers are never happy with the results.

I got a crane stage 2 cam off of summit for a hundred bucks a while back, for my Celica. I was pleased with the results. Definite increase in the low-end, and midrange, and perfectly drivable.

I had to advance the timing a bunch to get it to idle nicely.
