Nice job Shawn! That was one of the first things I did when I got my 4Runner. I made a thread about it. Here is the link: http://https://www.yotatech.com/foru...inside-147360/
You can use the 3M wheel on the spot where your emblems were. That should take most of it off, or atleast push it to one side. Then take a hair dryer and heat up the gunk a little bit to make it soft. Then take a soft cloth with some WD40 and wipe it down. Did that on mine and love it!

im somewhat depressed on how nicely your stripes came off compaired to mine.
With my truck i believe the paint on the driver side was damaged cause when i took off it actually went down to the primer on some spots.

Nice job. The previous owner of my runner removed the stripe from the driver's side, but left the passenger side....I'll have to get on that. Mine is the same color as yours, so it made a good preview of what to expect.

Those spots on the back arent glue, its the primer. but im gonna paint the emblems to kinda match the truck and throw em back on.

Yeah man go for it. It looks like i got a new paint job. The paint looks darker and the whole truck just looks 100x better.

I've found my next project!! I've got the same stripes you've got, except on burgandy paint. I'm kind of worried about taking anything abrasive to it, because my clearcoat is flaking in some spots.
Hey Shawn, You should try to find some Hilux Surf emblems to replace the 4Runner and SR5 V6 emblems, just throwing that idea out there.

or just remove em and then have someone respray the clear. I used to work at a body shop and there was a few people who would ask us to remove the striping for them
HAHA that would be awesoem to have hilux surf on the back. Thanks for the idea.
