You can follow the harness between the two, though it does disappear back up in there. Should be simple enough to make your own if both the switch and light bosses are present.

I didn't know that light was optional.

You can see why the original light bulb performs better in this location.
If you want a led, install a bracket to hold it pointing down (or use some duct tape if you are not purist)

From what I have seen, the vast majority of these trucks and 4Runners don't have the light. My truck doesn't even have the wiring or bracket for it. You just got lucky!

I can’t believe I’ve gotten so many responses to this haha. Now I’m determined to have it. I’m going to pull the glove box out today and see if the wiring is present at all. Otherwise looks like I’ve got a fun little custom project.

I have been wanting to add one too (I want to find my cassette tapes in the glove box at night ), but it is near the bottom of my priorities. I should probably fix my transmission leak first....

I feel like I should add that the factory light only works when the parking/head lights are on. I could see that being annoying.

just like the cargo lamp in the back. rad4r will have a good solution for converting it to "light on when door is open, period".

Here is what I did to add lighting in the glove box. Also added foot-well lighting that work with the dome light. I had some extra LED T10 bulbs so used those and the switch was from amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is what I'd like to do in the cargo area, it looks almost original (other forum):

Yup, that sucks like the stock rear deck light.
Wire it to dome light circuit like I did that Wallytoo mentions. How to find the wire to tap from is on my thread.
