i have a perfectly stock 4runner that gets 315km to a tank.. best i ever got was 400 and that was exactly 400km on the highway.. the 33s will kill it to, remember its taking power from you truck, changing how fast you are actually travelling.

but.. every mpg helps.. how is the truck running?

The 33's

Mine is horrible too, i can't recall if it happend as soon as i put the trxus's on, but i don't think so. Before i ran some 33x12.50's that were bald and i was getting 18mpg and with the 33x12.50s trxus's on steelies im getting like 15mpg and the power went down dramatically.

Im leaning tworads teh tires, but if there is somthing else i should check im listening.

mine has had a recent tune up too, new plugs, cap, rotor, oil change to mobile 1, fuel filter, o2 sensor, cleaned the air filter

This may sound stupid but If you take it out on the trail alot make sure one of your hubs is not staying locked.

I had a hub spring break, went out had it in 4wd and it never disengaged. I dident notice, drove it for a over a month before I realized I had one locked. I used the other hub to unlock it for now.

Probly not the case but never hurts to check, it split my gas milage nearly in half.

keep an eye on the tire pressures too.

leaning out the fuel mix can have a negative effect on mileage if taken too far. the ECU will use the O2 sensor to bring the mix back into spec with the AFM mod mentioned.

Hmm, thats pretty low. I used to get around 300km to a tank back in the winter time with a untuned engine..

I have gotten up to 21mpg hwy with my truck with all its mods.. Average mixed driving is around 17mpg. Still higher then what you got.

Make sure you take into account the mileage difference since you have a mis-matched tire/gear ratio.

When have you done a tune up? Im talking FULL tune up, what brand parts you using? Lay off the skinny pedal! Coast as much as you can too

okay i found my problem i think!

LIke i mentioned eariler, my power and mpgs went down dramatically.

well on the way home today i was in 2nd gear on a two lane highway, had it floored, and no power, couldn't get above 45 mph. so i called around to people i know and my grandfather suggested my cat was clogged. So i unbolted it for now and walla, its fun to drive again! Off to get a new cat tomorrow!

Oh and btw, with the clogged cat, this last fillup i managed 13mpg's'

so when i first put my lift on i was getting about 18mpgs or so, and it dropped to 13. I bet it goes back up.

if your cat was clogged it might be time for a full tuneup. And 4.88 or lower are worth it. I can't really say what caused it but a tuneup and 4.88 I went from 9 mpg -22 mpg

well, original cat if that matters with 253,000 miles???

and i did, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, o2 sensor, fuel filter, oil, air filter.

Hey i actually passed people up this 2 way highway uphill for the first time! With ease too!

hmm... I spent about 640 bucks for a round trip from home to Beaumont Texas and back... about 3000 miles... with an average speed of about 75-80.
how does that work out for mileage? about 18?
