gears in a 90 4runner with auto

My friend is going to buy a 1990 4runner for parts. It's a 3.0L with an automatic transmission.
Could this have 4:56 gears in it? I could look in the door when we go to look at it (sometime this week). I'm wondering because I'll go half with him.
Seller wants $400 It's rusted really bad.

I think 4:56 would be better in my truck since I put the 31X10.5 BFG M/T's on it. It had P225/75 R 15's.

Auto has 4.30 stock, if had the 31" tire option, then may have 4.88.
Pretty sure 4.56 was for 5 spd w/ the 31" tires, 4.10 stock.
The math works out that way at least.

A 90 w/3.0 Auto if it had 225's will have 4:10's (unless itwas regeared)
22re and auto was 4:30

If it came with 31's and auto it will have SPECIAL 4.88's. These diffs can't be regeared due to an offset pinion - nobody makes the unique gears they have.

We will look at it this weekend. I'll check the code on the door jamb to be sure. We did just look at a 1994 ext. cab truck (parts for me). the truck was rolled, hit a guardrail and landed on it's tires. Needs a cab and bed.

mine

My '95 3.0 auto came with 4.56 gearing. It's a manual now...4.88's would make it perfect for my 33" tires.
