gas mileage question

i have an 90 runner and the gas mileage i am getting on a regular basis is terrible, i am getting between 14-15 miles per gallon. the truck has 31x10.5x15 tires on it and a 2" body lift, will either of those be part of the lack of mileage? i have recently done a tune up on the truck:
plugs
wires
cap
rotor
pcv valve
air filter

is there anything else i can do to help improve the mileage?

thanks for any help offered

Which engine do you have? If we are talking about the 3.0, 14-15 mpg is about average.

A 2" body lift?? w/31 doesnt sound like it looks too good..... {No offence intended!}

:complain: Thats pritty much the best your gonna do w/that setup...

The only thing you can do to help mpg is get a small truck and put your runner up for 4x4 only

check for vacuum leaks....that and bad o2 sensor are the most common causes of crappy mileage.

I get about 19.5 MPG based on mostly highway use. That is in a 4x4 pick up, 22RE and 235/75/R15 tires.

A 4Runner might be a little less but not by 4-5 mpg.

I get about 12-14 on the highway and 10 -12 in the city with the 3.0 on a stock suspension with 31X10.50's. But then I am in dire need of a tune up and I just put on a Flowmaster exhaust.

I'm hoping with new plugs, wires, etc. and a new o2 sensor I can get up around 15 or 16.

On a different note, has anyone tried the Yokohama Geolander M/T's?

Oxygen sensor sounds like the culprit.

oxegon sensor might be the culprit. Try a sea foam treatment did wonders for my '88 22re!

'87 22R .. just actually figured out my mileage yesterday. 21.5mpg highway.

31x10.5 mud rovers movn about 70-75mph the whole time 5th gear. one tank of gas got me 330 miles.. Give or take the last gallon in the tank [below the E mark =)]

the odometer reads a little over 140,xxx but who knows if its the original cluster, the previous owner who lied about everything else told me the motor was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago but i am starting to doubt that, as i previously stated i did a full tune up about 1.5 months ago, had the exhaust re done with a regular no name muffler but all new piping since the old had rotted through, the only thing i didnt do is the o2 sensor, it doesnt seem to have any vacuum leaks but i only looked where i knew to look, also someone had mentioned sea foam, i did a can thru the gas tank and a can thru the brake booster and didnt seem to make too much difference
