Gas guage question

Hello,
I have a 1988 toy truck 4x4 with a 3.0 V-6. The gas guage reads full all of the time, even when the tank is empty. I was wondering Is this a stuck float? or is it a sensor or electrical problem? Thanks in advance. Joe

You might try unplugging the fuel sender and checking its resistance. There's a connector to it under the carpet along the rocker panel, below the passenger seat. If you look underneath the vehicle, you'll see where it passes thru the floor pan.
