while off roading, when i get at steep angles, my fuel guage drops and rises almost half a tank, its kinda funny, i knew i had half a tank going up a hill and my fuel light was on..

other than that the guage hovers in a spot forever and then drops 1/4 tank is 2 miles or so. with 200xxx mile son it, could the sending unit just be gunked up?

Any updates on this? My 88 4Runner gets to half a tank and then drops to empty.

mine does that too... damn dropping the tank isnt fun! it doesnt do it bad, i mean it still sends accurately, but it takes a little longer for it to drop than it used to.

Fuel Gauge

Thread from the past , fi you are going up and down steep hills thats normal , very slow moving dash gauge could be poor signal/voltage from sending unit as a result of the sending unit or wiring connector at tank dirty/bad connection , also could be dash gauge but I would say that is going to be fairly rare but have seen before so is a possiblity
