Fuses melting?

Fuses melting?

Anyone having any problems with their fuse melting thats goes to the taillights and dash lights?....ya well mine is shorted somewhere and melting fuses, any suggestions?

Melting? Wow, sounds like a hard short. Take a look at your wiring and see if any of it is bubbled or discolored more than the surrounding wiring. If it's pulling that much amperage and heat to melt a fuse, it should be making itself known the the wiring as well. If you can, also check continuity.

ya i found the wire supper crispy...are they hard to re-wire

Not really. Just need to see where it's shorting at and rewire past that. So follow the crispy wire and see where its doing it. To do a good job, a simple soldering iron and new same gauge wiring and electrical tape can do the job.

Your running WAY to big a fuse for it to melt and turn the wire crispy. It's suppose to blow before the wire melts and catches a fire...thats there purpose

the ole boy is right..lol..my Amp fuse by the battery would blow..so in order for it to work on cruise night..i put in a 5amp bigger fuse..problem solved..lmao..although it melted it after a while..but nothing was harmed as far as i know..

it could just be a loose connection somewhere..so check all of your connections bud!

Lesson learnt I think...Only use the rated fuse.
