Yesterday I was working on releasing some badly corroded bolts on my exhaust system and was going at them with a propane torch, then pb blaster, then a torch again with eventual success.
Seems like this is a powerful combination for releasing fused hardware, the only issue is that the fumes from pb blaster seem to be particularly toxic.
Of course this shouldn't be of much surprise, but it was a quick operation outdoors and so didn't get my respirator / charcoal filters together, yet since then my lungs have had a constricted feel and am wondering if the effect will linger.
I have some other old nuts to remove along with a broken stud and was thinking of going at them with the same procedure while wearing a respirator, but would like to know if people have had similar problems or would advise against this technique.
I can't say that I've ever done anything quite that ... challenging. But the best source for this information (other than asking "some guy on the internet") is the Material Safety Data Sheet. https://blasterproducts.com/wp-conte...2017-12-13.pdf
If you're still alive when you read this, and you can still feel some constriction, gee, I think I'd see an MD.
