Yess, they are the same part number...so im good..like i thought, didnt think to compare p/n's though.
long day at work.
mmm
Fill, no fuel cell, i will barely have enough to pay for this tank so i can get this thing goin before pismo 4rJ, if i miss it, i will die.
Now for some suggestions, if you bought a tank from a salvage yard, what would you do to clean it to minimize contamination in your engine from old gas residue, dirt and alike things???
I've heard of steam cleaning but dont want to even hear a price a place is going to tell me, again, short on cash, Any suggestions welcome guys

yeah i have the 17.2 gallon short wheelbase tank
For future refrence though.
Short Wheel base trucks and 4Runners; 89-95 and 90-95 respectivley, are 17.2 gallons
Long Wheel base trucks have a 19 gallon tank
The 4Runners of the era had the option for the 19 gallon tank
Ex cab pickups are long wheel base
Again that paragraph was for future refrence

75 liters = 19.8129 gallons
Xtra cab fuel tanks will actually hold a little more. I emptied between 4 1/2 - 5 gallons into my bone dry tank from a 5 gallon can. The next day I drove to the gas station and filled up an additional 16 gallons and change.

anyone happen to have a picture of a their 19 gallon tank ??
i cant seem to find one on google
im trying to figure out if my suspicion is right.
heres what my new one looks like
(thats not my truck)
I got a new tank today bt dub, it happened to be a bit smaller then the one that was already in my truck, go figure
***In case no one knew***
My drive shaft wore a hole through my tank due to the u joints being bad
, sourced a new tank and realize the one i had in it probably wasnt the right one in the first place.
New smaller tank is in, u joints should be greased here soon...and i should be back on the road shortly after that

Well im updating this cause i have a quick question, if the fuel lines werent securerd all the way because the guy sold me the wrong size line to extend it, that would mean the fuel system wasnt presurized, making the truck start then die down, exactly like when there was the hole in the tank(see post 15)...
I jumpered the fuel pump, as per 4crawlers directions, then it stayed on and thats when i realized it was leaking.
So i think im right asuming I just need the correct size line..??
