fuel pressure regulator ?
i pulled the vacuum line off of the feul pressure regulator and fuel came out, a good bit actually. I'm assuming this means the regulator is busted and needs to be replaced?

While I can't imagine you made this mistake, remember that the vacuum line is the smaller-diameter line "farther" from the fuel rail. The fuel return line (which is supposed to be full of fuel) is the other rubber hose.

If you do have significant fuel in the vacuum lines, you might want to consider checking / cleaning out the rest of the vacuum system. It could still have fuel in it which is bad enough for obvious reasons... but additionally will degrade any non-fuel rated plastic parts that it comes in contact with.
That... just doesn't sound fun... at ALL!
