Fuel Pressure Leak

I got this truck and it always was a bit hard to start after it sat for a few days. I lived with it. I had my injectors rebuilt because of a differnt issue, and at the same time i was hoping it would have fixed the issue. It didnt. I jumped the fuel pump so it will automatically turn one with the key switch turned on, and it didnt help. I have no fuel leaks at all.

This morning I decided to turn the key on and let the fuel pump pressurize the system, and after 10 seconds i cranekd it up and it started right up. So I know I definately have a leak down in the fuel system. My actual question is what is next in the system I should check out? The fuel pump seems to work. I can hear it pumping when i have teh key switch turned to let it pump. Since the issue happened before and after i changed the injectors. And when i installed the injectors i changed the filter. Would the check valve go bad but not the pump? I know my charcoal canister does have a vacuum line to the throttle body, but i am not sure that will have an effect on this issue.

Thanks for the help.

if this a 3vze or 22re? Do you smell gas? If it's a 3vze, check the fuel pulsation damper (rear of passenger side fuel rail), and fuel pressure regulator (front of driver side fuel rail).

it is teh 22re. No fuel smell. No leaks at the regulator or fuel rail.

It is possible for the check valve in the pump to go bad and not hold presure. If the pump has a lot of miles on it the check valve has probably worn out.

I know the truck has 204,000 on it. I believe the pump is original. i may have to pull the body cover in the 4runner to look at the top of it.
