Fuel Issue on 92 Pickup

First let me say hello, as this is my first post. I have been browsing this site for a little while and there seems to be a bunch of high quality people here with a lot of great information. Now to the good stuff?.

I have a 1992 Toyota Pickup, Automatic, 22re, 4x4. I recently rebuilt the 22re after my dad let it sit idle for about 3 years. The truck ran ruff when I brought it to my house to rebuild. I am now ready to start the truck, but my fuel pump is not pumping and I don?t think my injectors are putting fuel to the pistons. I have check the EFI relay and Fuse both are in working condition. I have also bypassed the wiring harness to hard wire the fuel pump and it did pump and I have fuel to the fuel and pressure at the fuel rail. I am stuck at the moment and I have no real other ideas what or where to check.

I am located in Knoxville, TN so if you are close and feel like giving a hand it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced for any help

Look here to see the whole curcuit that controls the fuel pump. There's a few more items you can check there.

Under the hood on the passenger?s side fender is the diagnostic box.
Open it up and place a jumper wire from the B+ to the Fp location.

You ?should? now hear the fuel pump running.
See if the truck will start.

This happened on my truck and this is how I fixed it. I just left the jumper in and drove it.

Give it a try and post your results

Good luck!

Check the maf flapper in the air duct. If it sticks closed you get little air and zero fuel pump power. Something that sat that long could have the home of a rodent in the air box as well, I would clean out the air ducts from the boax to the throttle body.

THE FUEL PUMP WORKED!!!!!! but it still didn't start !! I will check to see if the injectors are actually putting fuel in some time Thursday. The motor hit a lot harder so I know I am getting close.

Thanks Innocent Fool!!

It is in the top cover for the airbox. its what tell the computer how much air flow there is and it needs to see air flow before starting the fuel pump.

The intake path is all new and clean. All the connectors are hooked up. Good idea though.

WOW my bad Rookie mistake!! I have a new fuel filter and it ran when I drove it over here about 4 weeks ago. I drained the tank as much as I could and it did not look too bad.

***UPDATE***

I pulled a plug to make sure I was still getting spark and I am but it is only sparking like every 2-3 seconds. I don't think that is normal. If it is not then I guess now I am dealing with a bad timing issue.

Thanks agian for all the help!!
