fuel issue

ok so i get in my truck this morning to drive to jury duty, turn it over and its very rough, then it starts up gets up to the idle position when the motor is cold and then shuts off. everytime it did the same thing, i tried to feather the throttle to keep it alive, but it shuts right down no matter what...gas was low, but not all that low. so i put another two gallons in incase it wasnt getting gas, still nothing.

so here is what im gonna do

1-change the fuel filter
if its not that
2-pressure check the lines
if its not that
3-try and jump the fuel pump
if its not that
4-check the connections on the top of the fuel tank to see if they are corroded and need replacement.
if its not that i dont know what else to check.

any ideas, truck ran perfect yesterday, tune up has been done within 5k, timing belt within 30k, anything else you guys/gals can think of?

edit, and yes i searched and read quite a bit, just looking for more info

how did you pressure check the lines?

Im guessing rusted lines along tank - lack of pressure...

one of my neighbors is a toyota mechanic, he said he can check for pressure. i would assume off of somewhere near the fuel rail or something. i do not know tho, i will after he does it

not rusted lines, they were replaced less then 50k ago, checked them all, they are all good. and there is no fuel on the ground...

tried to get at the fuel filter, and i just couldnt get the darn tranny crossmember off. i cracked all the bolts on the passenger side no problem, but couldnt get the four on the drivers side off, tried by hand, by hand with a long wrench and cheater bar, with an impact gun, heated with MAPP gas and by hand, again with MAPP and with the impact, they didnt budge a bit, so i have no clue what im gonna do, i guess im gonna have to cut the bolt head off, then drop the crossmember, and then figure out how in hell im gonna get the rest of the bolt out, really not too keen on drillin em and tappin em, just feel as tho its weakening the one side.

replaced fuel pump, lines, filter....wasnt that, so then we checked all the fuses, they were good, checked the relay, good. finally figured out i was only getting power at the fuel pump for the first 3 seconds the car was on, so i jumped the diagnostics plugs for the fuel pump and power and now it runs and works fine...so far were totally stumped...and im working with a toyota mechanic on it...

used a fuel pressure gauge...should be reading 38-40psi at idle, more under load...i was getting 40 at startup, then it would progressivley drop until the truck shut off
