fuel guage incorrect

Hello all i am new to the forums and did a search on this subject to no avail,i am somewhat unfamiliar with my truck as my father in law just gave it to me and never noticed an issue.Buti have noticed that the fuel guage when you fill up goes to full but after a few hundred miles is on empty.Upon checking the owners manual i discovered that it still has aprox 7to 8 gallons in the tank.I am thinking fuel sending unit, but i wanted to ask if this was common and could it be guage related?I have also noticed that the temp guage is unreliable at best, but saw the sticky to check that out.Its a 90 extended cab with a 22r fuel injected.

Thats the way they are. My T100 has at least 5-7 gallon left when it says empty.

i have no problem with driving it on e but my wife kinda freaks out, guess theres always fresh fuel in there. When it hits dead empty it will only take 10 gallons of fuel to fill up.It just seems like your always having to stop for fuel.

The windings in the lever assembly is fine as hair. The wiper that moves up and down with fuel level will wear into the wire and break them. About the only way to fix it correctly is to replace the float assembly. I hear a Float Assembly runs around $100. Most likely is the cause of your problem.

For your Temp Guage, make sure the Ground by the fuse box inside the truck is making a good connection and here is a thread the might help>>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ge-fix-271152/ Has helped quite a few others.
