fuel gauge
Question: Do the 1995 4Runners use a computer controlled/monitored fuel gauge that gives you an "average" instead of a real time float reading?
I have noticed when the truck is shut off & the tank is nearly empty, it will show over a 1/4 tank when started again after being parked for a bit. It also takes a long time to creep up to full after being filled. (sure goes down quick enough I noticed... )

Could be just old...but I've got vehicles that are even older that work fine. I've only owned this beast about a month & I'm anal about figuring out every little twitch. I thought maybe it could be attributed to the ECU & baffles in the tank. The low fuel light works fine & the gauge works too really, it's just what I mentioned above.
I wouldn't probably have noticed it at all but I let my wife take it to church while I changed the oil in her vehicle & she said the 4Runner was out of gas...I said bull$@*!...it's got a quarter tank. I ended up having to apologize to my wife for being wrong about one of my vehicles once I realized there was something odd going on with the fuel gauge. That can't ever happen again lol
