So I just replace a fuel damper on a 1990 4runner. ... and still leaking gas but even worst..shooting gas now..from the new fuel damper. The old one had a plastic cover on it with a screw in the middle... but napa game me a full metal 1 that looks like it just stight metal with no plastic cover..

 

The plastic cover doesn't do anything.

Did you re-use the crush washers? If so, that's almost certainly the cause of your leak (they are one-time-use items).

If you are using an after-market replacement, you do need to check that it fits correctly.

 

Is the after market peace all metal .. I got it from napa..but ya I took off the old lost the screw when taking off the plastic cover on the old one... Replaced it with the new one and it still leaks and I got dat washer in there 2...

 

It might me dat washer den... I reused da same one...

 

I went through hell and back doing all that ˟˟˟˟ today put it all back together and leaked even worst..gas shoots out da damper. now... now gota take apart... again and get dat washer out...what a bitch
