Ive read about them, tried to google them but no other place to turn than to you guys for a explanation and understanding of what and how it is used.

Nope, locking the hubs doesn't have anything to do with locking the diff.

without a locker, your left and right wheels can spin freely of each other. Power will then go to the wheel with the least amount of traction. A locker "locks" the left and right side together giving both wheels traction.

You mean power to possibly get traction.

You've probably found this spot on YT already... but runs are often posted there of varying difficulties. You could see vehicles with and without lockers in action.

It's a patient group that usually lists what vehicles need to enjoy a set run.

Your question was reasonable. In the real world, lockers make a huge difference offroad. I like mine occasionally on road behind a 22re. The engine doesn't have teh power to spin both tires (letting the back end fishtail around), so instead, you get gobs of traction, taking an up hill corner in the rain.

Look in my signature line, for more info under Aussie Locker review.

if you plan on getting one id suggest selectable like everyone else, if you can afford it.

i put a lockright in the rear, and like matt said, unbelievable off road!

on road isn't bad either, maybe see if you can drive someones rig that has one first!

Yeah, I'd drive someone else rig first if you can. Its helpful to know what you're getting into, and to convince yourself it isn't as bad as a lot of people on the internet say it is.

If I did a lot commuting though traffic and in the city, I'd see if I could afford a selectable, or if you can't maybe I'd get a gear driven limited slip, like a Trutrac. BUT if you have a normal commute, then its not so bad.
