Front Long Travel Kit

I have read a couple threads on this but no one is quite clear on what each is designed for and I tried contacting the manufactures and they don't like my questions due to them having to back up their product against their leading competitor. So I come to you for guidance.

I am looking at the basic "Blazeland" kit if I remember correctly but I do not believe it will be enough for the abuse I plan to put it through. From what I read it is extended a arms at the basic route of it all and upgraded parts.

Next is the Total Chaos Long travel kit http://www.chaosfab.com/84-95-2WD-Pi...Kit-92200.html

By reading through it, the kit includes EVERYTHING needed and all I would need to have done minus upgraded fenders would be upper shock mounts made and welded in place. It includes all steering, brakes lines, spindles, etc, etc.

Than comes the JDFab http://jdfabrication.com/index.php?o...d=16&Itemid=35

This kit includes anything and also upgraded spindles to the 6 lug but does not include the brakes system itself I would need to put on to upgrade, nor the steering upgrade, and just as Total Chaos, not the shocks as well.

So can anyone give me direct comparisons of both pros and cons of these kits? I can get the pricing again just so the information is up to date if need be to help you all gather and make more accurate decisions and taking in all consideration.

But would it apply to a 1990 Toyota. Suspension is different, isn't it? First Toyota I have owned but I am knowledgeable with American built products.

I know pre 95' almost all trucks are identical minus body and minor changes to spindles, brakes, etc. From my readings at least. Just trying to figure out where I want to go with this. I would rather not fab. I am done with that, if I can buy most of it, and have to fab just a little I am ok, but not make shift and make an entire kit myself.

yes, simplified but yes more or less.

i too am learning about long travel, and the more i learn the more i realize how much i don't know.

you will still have to setup/adjust limit straps spring and shock tuning. not to mention the steering upgrades that will be required.

both have more info and knowledge about long travel setups and linked back ends then anywhere else on the web.

if you plan on beating on your truck and actually using it to go fast in the desert, the TC 5 lug uniball kit is tried and true and a very good kit. if you plan on racing, they also have a 6 lug option to upgrade too http://www.chaosfab.com/kitpage01.php?id=92300 but its a little more involved in installation but it get more travel and has room for bigger and more shock.

the JD kit is also another great setup if you can afford it and everything that it needs. i had a friend who was going to put this on his pickup but JD didnt include any install instructions, just a box full of parts and tabs to be welded on and there support was kind of hard to come by when he had questions because they want to be the ones to install it. i have seen a few trucks with this setup and they do great. the billet aluminum upper arms are things of beauty and worht the extra $300 too.

Well no deserts down here in FL but a lot of local tracks where they have dune buggies race, dirt tracks at the speed ways, and than if I do it right I could attempt a motocross track to work out kinks in my suspension.

Which one would cater more to my setup or should I try both?

both, you will get more info that way.

DR is mainly the younger guys in the scene and has a lot of daily posters but you better do a lot of searching for answers or you will get flamed.

RDC has the older guys but not as much daily traffic in the shop section. you will get flamed on there too for redundant questions but not as much.
both have awesome classifieds for parts though.
