Both my headlight mounts are broke on both sides. I know how that feels, but mine are plastic.

Not quite. One is off to the right, a lot, and the other is down. It's like it has a lazy eye.

why not a hood scoop ?

i know some e30 (bmw) tuners delete the high beam for the same reason, but they have 4 headlights.

if you have to have your intake in that spot, you could also hallow out a larger diameter around the light and it would still function from the sides of the light (or install a tiny high beam, as on some newer highend models- ellipsoid type)

either way. keep an open mind.

Wasup guys,

I'm in the City of San Fernando, nice to see some local Yota fans in the forum! I removed that plastic air funnel behind the driverside headlight just to see what it'll do and my truck is idling alot smoother! Can't say that my rig actually accelerates more as it might be just a placebo effect. But I like the way the engine is running at the moment, smooth. I wouldn't want to loose one of my headlights as I have HID conversions in there.

..i removed that funnel before i took my headlight out.. then i decided to put it back in afterwards. the purpose of the funnel is to isolate the cold outside air from the hot air in the engine bay. when i ran my truck without the plastic air funnel, i was only seeing a 0.1 - 0.3 increase in mpg.. whereas i am seeing a 2.5 - 4 (usually closer to 3) increase in mpg. by removing the funnel you are letting the engine breathe better, so it does help a little, but it causes your engine to suck in hot air from the engine bay.. so the effects are negligible.

That thing looks evil to me. I wouldn't want to be tailgated by you. Now go tailgate some Jeeps and scare them off the road.

You should call your truck "One eyed Jack" from now on.

Black eye!

Got a blackeye too now! i haven't noticed any gains(mpg), but i dont have the funnel piece for the corner yet...
ill have one in june though when my dad trades in his runner.
it seems to have a harder time starting up, but once i get
onto grand where its 65, it feels noticably better, maybe its a placebo
effect though...

any updates on yours?
