Flowmaster Knockoffs

Flowmaster Knockoffs
Anyone know of any Flowmaster knockoffs, I personally think Flowmaster sucks as far as performance goes because they don't flow real well, but I think with no Catalatyic converter on my truck a flowmaster would give me enough backpressure... (Lets not get into that) Anyways, Anyone know any flowmaster knockoffs or cheap chambered mufflers? I need 2.25 size pipe, and offset on both ends..

Ok lets not get into that, in my opinion they don't flow as well as a dynomax, or borla, countless studies have proved it over and over, but I don't see a freakin point in spending 90$ for a noisemaker that doesn't perform that well, I just like the sound of a chambered muffler, so I either need to find a flowmaster knockoff, or I'm getting a 19$ glasspack...

I'm just saying they seem restrictive, over hyped, and over priced, thats my opinion, fact is there ARE better mufflers, but I don't think it makes much of a difference on a 22R, its not like its a hot rod or anything, I just need a muffler and like how the flowmasters sound when the engines are cammed... I'll probably go with a glasspack then.. Or a cheap turbo muffler.. as far as your bumble bee comment goes, IT IS A FOUR CYLINDER IT IS GOING TO SOUND LIKE A FOUR CYLINDER NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO THATS WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE!
Atleast I wont have a coffee can exhaust tip!

no they dont
i wouldnt recomend a glasspack either they sound like rice. i have a dynomax turbo on a 2.5" system it has a nice beefy sound for my 22r and is supposed to flow pretty well too overall i like it

I had a spin-tech muffler on my 91 long bed, it sounded throaty, but not over bearing, and not loud at all opened up. But it was noticible, and didn't sound like a toyota at all. Wish I could remember the number's on it, I'd order it for this rig. It's a racing muffler

well, I mentioned them before... I've got a cheap magnaflow on my truck meaning 135 installed with 2.25" pipe from the cat back to the tail pipe.
It doesn't sound 'rice' and is a tad more torquey than the stock muff so I'm guessing it works well. It's not obnoxiously loud, no where near as loud as a 18" glass pack. My brother made the comment that it reminded him of a 1918cc VW baja bug through headers and dual turbo mufflers, but not as tinny.
So maybe you can find a muffler shop to test fit different mufflers.
And keep in mind that glasspacks burn out.
otherwise get the 39.95 turbo mufflers from schucks/kragen/autozone/pep boys and be happy.

are you saying that all mufflers on a 4cyl sound alike??
a flowmaster sounds nothing like a glass pack imo.
wheres this proof that flowmasters dont flow well?
not only do they flow good and sound good, they also have a stout construction. and wont rust out in 1 year.

Actually me and all my friends have been making our own exhausts for years, its VERY simple IF you can weld.. You buy some 2.25" exhaust pipe, weld a double offset muffler in there, stand it on end then with the other offset above the axle, put more pipe on & shoot it out the back, or put a dump on.. You just need a double offset muffler or glasspack I like the dynomax super turbo but was wanting to try a chambered muffler.. it looks like this pretty much, dont mind the crappy MS paint drawing..

Oh, and that red junk below the tailpipe represents the axle & leaf springs to show the exhaust pipe has more then enough clearance..

well I'm gonna give a suggestion:
2.5 in/2.25 out 18" glass pack in front of the rear axle, baffles open to the rear... pipe up and over the rear axle... 2.25/2.0 18" glass pack baffles open toward the engine... the tip out the rear

And WHY would I do that? I don't know if you guys understand this, but basically my question was "What are some cheap chambered mufflers?" Not "What kinda exhaust do I want" I know what I want, I just need to know of some cheap chambered mufflers.. If I can't find one, I'll get a glasspack its that simple..

well I suppose I'll bow down and out. I suggested a few mufflers and went so far as to help you with your glasspack ultimatum.
If all you want to do is argue and complain, go complain to the muffler shop.
